Welcome to
Family Time Help Blog
Do you remember back in the good olden days when everything
just seemed so much more modest and simpler? Ok, maybe not everything, so let’s
be a little more specific. Do you recall witnessing below:
·
Children were more respectable, polite and simply
kids?
·
Ladies cooking the families favorite meals for everyone,
while the guys made sure the fireside was adequate and drank to stories about
who fell off their bikes or being crushed by his high school sweet heart... you
know; the girl next door!
·
How about planting the family garden or flowers
at the community center
·
Sitting down at the dinner table for a good meal
after a long day (with mom, dad, sister and our nosey neighbor who just loves
moms signature stewed chicken). Ah yes, memories, right?
·
Ok, this is definitely my favorite; Games night…
Yippee!!!
So, you may be saying “I still enjoy family dinners and
playing football with my son; or picking out drapes with the girls”. The
question is not that it does not happen; instead let us focus on the frequency
of those face-to-face interactions when compared to Facebook, Twitter, Myspace
and fanfare for YouTube.
Am I saying to blame these social media giants, of course
not! What I am simply saying is that there are limits to time and purpose for
everything under the sun.
Remember, education, discipline and respect start from the
home with the family and the only way to instill them is through spending time with
each other.
